The Gardener's Notepad

One look and you'll be able to tell why they call it 'Black Scallop'! Glossy, deep maroon-purple leaves with a scalloped edge creep outward, up to 36" over time, to create a non-invasive, well-behaved groundcover. Particularly good at choking out weeds with its dense carpet of foliage. Vivid blueish purple flower spikes appear mid to late spring, and continue to sporadically flower throughout the rest of the season.
