The Gardener's Notepad

Somewhat hard to find, but worth the aggravation! Very few wholesale growers offer it since it is not the easiest thing to propagate and has not reached the attention of most gardeners. Yet. Perfectly striking in the perennial border, whether in bloom or not, and is one of those plants that people will ask "What is that one?" Always a fun question! Foliage can be trimmed back part way through the year to force fresh leaves, but I usually just remove whatever is looking tired when I walk by. There is a constant supply of new foliage from the crown anyway and the spent leaves pull off incredibly easy, but each to his own.

This type is not invasive! Have no fear.
