The Gardener's Notepad
Winterberries, or deciduous hollies, are suited for full sun to partial shade, and don't mind getting their feet wet. This dwarf female selection boasts extra large red berries that the birds just adore. Be sure to plant a male pollinator, like Jim Dandy or Southern Gentleman, for optimum berry production. The beautiful red clusters will persist into spring, as long as the birds don't get to them first!
