The Gardener's Notepad
One of the coolest little Pines we have! Requires some sun protection. Best results will be had with maybe 3 hours of morning sun, give or take, then filtered light for the rest of the day. Very limited quantities. This species is suitable for container culture, although will certainly do a bit better if allowed to establish in the ground. Also, you will be rewarded for pruning it when young. Naturally, the bushier it gets, the more variegated needles you get to see! No chance going wrong there!
There seems to be some disagreement on the spelling of the name. Several authoritative sources have it down as 'Tani mano uki'. Who's right?
