The Gardener's Notepad

Incredibly hardy! New foliage is especially attractive and is suited for container planting, provided that your planter is big enough. The reasons I recommend them for pots are as follows; #1) they will spread underground and colonize your neighborhood, #2) they are quite tough and can withstand neglect, #3) you can trim the daylights out of them and they will spring back with brilliant new leaves, and #4) it is impossible to lose them due to cold temperatures over Winter since they are still unfazed at 35 below zero!
