The Gardener's Notepad

We carry a variety of blueberries, including but not limited to Berkeley, Jersey, Elliot, Blueray, Bluecrop, Bluejay, Chandler, Pink Lemonade, Chippewa, Patriot, and Bluegold. Please inquire for availability of specific varieties, or stop by in May for best selection. Prefers moist, acidic, well draining soil, which usually means that you will want to till an entire bag of peat moss and aged pine fines into your soil, and fertilize them with Holly-Tone or a similar product. They don't do well at all in tight, hard soil. Also, the birds will leap for joy upon seeing your patch of blueberries, so if you want to harvest them it is essential to cover the plants. Or plant them simply for the joy of bird-watching. Nothing wrong with that!
