The Gardener's Notepad
The heavily-dissected leaves of this Japanese maple emerge fluorescent green in spring, and mature in summer to a rich lime green. Fall color is also lovely, as it turns a combination of golden-yellow, orange, and crimson as the temperatures begin to drop. Situate this specimen as a focal point in your garden, providing it with some respite from harsh afternoon sun at the height of summer. It will tolerate full sun, but will look and grow best with a bit of dappled shade.
