Ryeland Gardens in Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania

Introduction

Welcome to Ryeland Gardens, a lovely little nursery tucked in by the historic Conrad Weiser Homestead. Your gardening success is our highest priority, and we look forward to helping you make your garden be all that it can be. We carry a wide variety of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and trees, as well as mulch, and everything you will need to make your garden grow. We are happy to give advice on plant selection, and we do our best to give detailed care instructions for everything we offer. We also have a series of display gardens where you can see the plants in action, so be sure to have a look at them while you're here. Each area of the gardens has it's own unique personality, and you will be able to see what is thriving where, and therefore be able to make a much more informed decision. We hope to see you here, and will do our best to make Ryeland Gardens your favorite place to go for high quality nursery stock, whether it be for something common or something new and rare.

From the Owner

Nature is so fascinating, isn't it? The vast array of plants and animals that we share the earth with is a powerful testament to the creative nature of God, and from a young age I have been interested in the world of horticulture. My dad started his own nursery in the late 70's, and I grew up helping my parents and older siblings in the family business. By my late teens my interest in all things horticultural began to grow quite a bit, and my involvement and responsibilities increased as well. When I got saved in 2014, my priorities got all changed up and the Fall of that year, work began on what was to become Ryeland Gardens. A smaller place, with a bit more freedom was the idea. It has been many things, including delightful, overwhelming, fun, stressful, rewarding, physically and mentally draining, spiritually stretching, and maybe not quite as "freeing" as I imagined, but overall it has been a very good time. God is faithful and I'm so thankful for that! So I'd like to invite you to come out and visit us at the nursery and see what we have to offer, and if I may say it again, please take the time to see our display gardens. One of my favorite after work activities is to grab a few plants and my shovel and wander around til the perfect spot is found for them. And yes, it's usually quite late when I finally head out. But it's fun! Gardening is about joy, and taking delight in all that we've been given. And that is something I'm delighted to do!
