The Gardener's Notepad

Native to the mountainous regions of Western China, and makes a very handsome bushy ground cover for shady locations. Likes consistently moist soil with good porosity (not wet clay), and once established it is quite tough and won't give up without a fight. Lustrous deep green leaves all year, and produces a goodly amount of fragrant flowers in early Spring. Spreads slowly by underground rhizomes. Not to be considered invasive, since it has the growth pace of the average Amazonian Sloth.
