The Gardener's Notepad
A note on the size estimation. These are very culture specific, and can be constrained into almost any position. Left to their own devices, they will be a rather rambling jumble of arching branches. Generally staked to 5 or 6 ft and left to spread from there. Attractive, but overused by landscapers and indiscriminate DIY'ers. All too often crammed between the front walk and the garage, in a bed who's generous dimensions span all of 4ft in width. How could they?
