The Gardener's Notepad
At some point one has to stop saying "This is my favorite tree". Soon people will notice, and you'll have to actually admit to a certain strain of nuttiness that obsessive gardeners are infected with. This is definitely in the top 15 of my current 'favorite' trees. The leaf buds are spaced very close together, and while it is a dwarf tree, the leaves themselves are pretty much full sized. It has a very sculptural appearance, and almost looks like something from the land of Dr. Seuss.
