The Gardener's Notepad
A very popular red laceleaf Maple. Beautiful texture. A side note on the size... They can be kept small (3x6 ft tall and wide) if one is willing to prune. Ancient specimens exist that are several times that size, but keep in mind, they are quite aged. For best results, allow at least a 6 ft diameter for the tree to occupy. It will take some time for it to fill this space, but, keep in mind, their beauty increases with age. Keeping enough space between prized plants will greatly postpone that special kind of agony gardeners go through when a decision has to be made on which plant gets to stay and which one gets torn out.
